Pest Risk Assessments

Pest Risk Assessments (PRA) are usually completed prior to any pest activity.  The assessment process looks to identify a potential pathway or opportunites that can favour pests (or the hazard) to become established or active.

Once pests have become active, an impact assessment can be completed to help reduce the associated risk.

Pest Risk Assessment can be divided into 3 steps:
  • Step 1 – Pest identification and potential threat
  • Step 2 – Likelihood of entry, beoming established and the opportunty / spread of the pest potential
  • Step 3 – Assessment of potential economic, social, legislatative consequences
